What are the key differences between management and administration? Explain each of them in detail.
Management is in charge of the organization it takes charge of people and their work in order to achieve an organization’s goal using its resources - because of this it isn’t very high ranked - it varies from low and mid ranked functions, low medium and top levels of an enterprise, it is in charge of taking care of the trivial tasks of an everyday business. Because of its classification, it takes care of the policies (customer, sales, philosophy, etc); and it’s source of control also comes from the goals that the organization wants to achieve business-wise - because of this the approach that it is taken to accomplish the missions can change very rapidly and with every new manager or leader. Another factor that can go into management has to do with marketing research, knowing your base client and successfully targeting them helps you know what new ideas to implement in the company.
Administration, on the other hand, is in charge of management, it is an organized process of administering the management of an organization - it is therefore in charge of management - taking care of the primary policies and objectives of a company or organization. It operates as a high ranked function, and it manages the activities and demands of a proper company with proper planning and organizational resources; the decisions that are made for these companies are controlled by a common belief but administrative functions also control or make decisions over the governments or nations. Since they take on a high ranked role they are slower to change and it can be a long complicated process - the goal of administration is to fulfill all requirements and secure the highest objectivity for the business or organization it tries to help.
Which is better, management or administration? Explain in detail.
From the video and the information we gathered, it is very clear that administration takes on a higher role and is therefore a more exclusive tool that is taken care of by high functioning executives but I would not go on to classify it as being “better” than management, I think that they are complementary and organizations as we know them would not be able to function. Whether administration or management are being implemented in a business, it is clear that they come from one another and directly affect the everyday decisions. That being said I do believe that administrative functions affect us on a larger scale because politics, the leaders of countries and nations use it in order to work and make up the rules that dictate the way our homes and policies work - but on a smaller scale management dictates the way our ordinary lives are, the way our bosses talk to us and the tasks we are meant to be doing at work and school are all beneath the order of management.
I also think that none is better than another. Administration may seem more important than management, but both have different focus, so the impact of their decisions will be different.
